Port Angeles City Council Responsible For Criminal Juveniles
The most liberal council in Port Angeles history has brought the surge in juvenile crime upon themselves. My inherent philosphy is that all of the advocacy to build or create more low income housing by now either through lax permitting or restricting private property rights (STRs) would not bring panacea to the area or peace on earth and again I was right, juvenile crime is up and way up.
It is not just a slight or slander if you will but a fact that purposefully bringing in more lower income people will just bring in more lower income juvenile crime and the locals are experiencing exactly that, service calls are up and courts are filling up as are detention centers.
Another problem is realized by the local Sheriff and Police Dept whom hope to see reforms to laws governing how law enforcement officers can interact with juveniles. Under current laws, deputies and officers cannot speak to juveniles without an attorney present which means law enforcement don’t talk to juveniles anymore, about anything.
State laws are also such that a child can not be arrested until the age of 12, between 8 to 12 they can be arrested but it has to be proven that they are, or were, well aware of what they did was wrong, once they reach 12 they can be arrested and convicted but though not tried as an adult until 18.
